About fifteen kilometers southeast of Ludes lies the charming town of Épernay, located about thirty kilometers from Reims. Capital of champagne, about 450,000 travelers enjoy its 20,000 hectares of vines each year.

#1 The charm of Ludes
In the Marne region, the picturesque flowery village of Ludes is the stronghold of Pinot Noir. Situated on a hillside, it has, to its south, the mountain and its forest, and on either side, the vineyard as well as the farmland.
It is a village classified as Premier Cru of the Montagne de Reims. Of the 320 villages that make up Champagne, only 42 of them benefit from this designation.
The Ludes terroir is steeped in Champagne history, and is where the romance between Victor Canard, a cooper, and Léonie Duchêne, a winemaker's daughter, began. Established on the former site of the Château de Ludes, Maison Canard-Duchêne boasts a vast residence and a park with century-old trees. The landscape integration of the historic site of Ludes in 2013 even preceded Champagne's inscription on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2016, a testament to Canard-Duchêne's commitment to its heritage.
