Our Commitments

Preserving our Natural Heritage

In addition to our 9-hectare organic plot, P181, Canard-Duchêne is deeply committed to sustainable viticulture. The majority of the vineyard is already VDC-certified (Viticulture Durable en Champagne), and we remain focused on furthering our sustainability efforts. With a goal of achieving 100% certification and eliminating herbicide use entirely by 2026, we are dedicated to continuous improvement towards a more sustainable future.

Biodiversity has always been a natural priority for us. This commitment inspired the creation of an agroforestry program on our P181 plot, along with the installation of five beehives in our park in Ludes to help preserve the local ecosystem. Since 2020, our partnership with Reforest'Action has resulted in the planting of 40,000 trees in the Champagne forests, with an additional 13,000 trees planned for 2024.

Reducing Our Environmental Footprint

Following an in-depth assessment of our carbon footprint, Canard-Duchêne has launched an ambitious initiative to reduce the weight of our "Iconic" bottle by 13%. Ecodesign is also at the heart of our concerns: 100% of our bottles are made of tinted glass and 95% are sold without packaging. These efforts underscore our ongoing commitment to sustainability and responsible production.

Promoting our Region

Canard-Duchêne proudly became the first Champagne House to serve as an ambassador for the UNESCO Mission "Coteaux, Caves et Maisons de Champagne". Our commitment to responsible sourcing ensures that 98% of our materials are procured within France, with the remainder sourced from Europe. Additionally, we actively engage with the local community, welcoming numerous visitors to the Domaine de Ludes and supporting various regional events as dedicated patrons.
