In the wake of the transformation initiated in late 2024 in France, marked by the launch of the Léonie Iconic cuvée, Maison Canard-Duchêne proudly presents its new Iconic collection, formerly known as Charles VII. This evolution celebrates the excellence and authenticity of its champagnes while embracing a more contemporary identity.
A New Identity That Reflects Quality
To honor the exceptional quality of the Charles VII cuvées, Maison Canard-Duchêne has chosen to enhance their distinct personality with a new name and packaging aligned with their DNA. Comprising a Blanc de Noirs, a Blanc de Blancs, and a Rosé de Saignée, and completed by the Léonie Iconic cuvée, this collection takes a gastronomic approach.
Focusing on a particular grape variety, or through a specific winemaking method, these wines with their great origins aim to reveal the essence of their terroir, sublimated by a controlled and prolonged maturation period in our six kilometers of cellars dug into the chalk.

A Name Inspired by an Iconic Bottle
The new name aligns more closely with the exclusive shape of its bottle, reflects the oenological trajectory of these wines initiated more than 20 years ago by Laurent Fédou, our emblematic Cellar Master, and now perpetuated by Cynthia Fossier, the new Cellar Master of the Maison.
Indeed, this sleek, uniquely shaped bottle was one of the first special bottles to appear on the market. Launched in 1968, to mark the centenary of Champagne Canard-Duchêne, it underlines the Maison's expertise and wines.
Beyond its aesthetic appeal, its distinctive curves offer multiple oenological advantages at various stages of the winemaking process.

A Refined Design Reflecting the Quality of our Wines
To highlight this "iconic" bottle, the Maison has reworked its packaging with a modern, refined aesthetic faithful to its founding values and in keeping with the Léonie Iconic cuvée, the emblem of this gastronomic collection. The new label retains its distinctive curved shape, enhanced by bold, joyful colors that reflect the vibrant personality of the wines.

From Charles VII Blanc de Noirs to Blanc de Noirs Iconic
Pinot Noir at Its Finest
True emblem of our Montagne de Reims terroir, the Blanc de Noirs Iconic cuvée is crafted from prestigious Crus such as Ludes, Aÿ, Mailly, and Ambonnay, celebrating the full expression of Pinot Noir. This champagne also features a significant proportion of reserve wines, including a perpetual reserve created from our finest black grapes since 2012, blended in a solera-like system to add a unique depth and complexity.

From Charles VII Blanc de Blancs to Blanc de Blancs Iconic
The Indulgence of White Fruits
Since 1943, the Maison has also crafted exceptional Blanc de Blancs champagnes, offering its own interpretation of Chardonnay, expressing the grape variety's fruity, gourmet character. The Blanc de Blancs Iconic cuvée is sourced from select Grands Crus of the Côte des Blancs, including Avize, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger, and Vertus, along with signature Crus such as Nogent-l’Abbesse and Montgueux. This results in a delicate, precise, and balanced style, perfectly embodying the essence of Canard-Duchêne wines.

From Charles VII Rosé to Rosé Iconic
Precision in Service of Fruit
Crafted using the traditional "saignée" method, the Rosé Iconic cuvée showcases a luscious, fruit-forward profile. The generous presence of Chardonnay and reserve wines in the blend ensures a perfectly balanced rosé champagne, harmonizing fruity richness with refined elegance.
