The beautiful days are here and with them come the desire for picnics. It is not just a rustic moment, it has become an Art of living in its own right, an opportunity to get together to share a moment in the heart of nature.
Organizing a picnic, simplicity required
The picnic is above all the expression of freedom. All you have to do is warn a few friends, share the preparation of the small dishes, choose the perfect place, sunny and shady so that everyone can enjoy. The picnic speaks to our senses, the baguette crisps, the egg flakes, the cherry is pitted, the champagne sparkles in the flutes.
Shredded raw ham, small vegetable sticks, beautiful mixed salad, gourmet quiche, assortment of farmhouse cheeses, everyone picks, passes from one to the other, bites into a carrot, cuts a piece of tart. One guest had the idea of preparing salmon rolls with fresh cheese. Mix in a tub of fresh cheese, 2 tablespoons of crème fraîche, a chopped shallot, ½ lemon, salt and pepper, place the preparation on a slice of smoked salmon and roll. Cut into sections, add a few skewers, all that's left to do is pick and accompany with a chilled Extra Brut champagne.
Picnic anywhere
Picnics have invaded our cities, from the banks of the Canal Saint Martin or the Garonne to urban gardens. Picnics can also be salty, on a sailboat off the coast of Corsica or on a large beach. They can be in white, like in Paris every year in June. They can be elegant, rustic, informal, gourmet, exotic, simple but not simplistic, bucolic, relaxed, with family, one-on-one, quickly dispatched, until late in the evening. One thing is certain, picnic time has come!
