From the vine to the forest, there is only one step that Maison Canard-Duchêne has taken by developing a limited edition Brut Réserve alongside Reforest'Action, a French company that is committed on a daily basis to strengthening biodiversity through the preservation, restoration and creation of forests all over the world. A coherent project for Maison Canard-Duchêne, which has been cultivating its taste and commitment to sustainable nature for several years.
This year, the end-of-year celebrations rhyme with commitment. Maison Canard-Duchêne has chosen to celebrate nature with its limited edition Brut Réserve Reforest'Action. A partnership that seemed obvious given the similarities between the values.
Preserve the environment at all costs
For several years, Maison Canard-Duchêne has been committed daily to protecting the environment. A process of continuous improvement where each stage of manufacturing integrates a sustainable development process.
Moreover, 100% of the vineyards received VDC certification in 2021, a label whose objective is to minimize the pressure of wine-growing practices on the environment (air, climate, water, soil, biodiversity, landscape).
Similarly, 9 ha of vines have been cultivated using organic farming methods since 2009. A path that the House continues to follow by also improving its processes, from waste recovery to effluent treatment, including reducing the carbon footprint through the use of a lightweight bottle.
A target of 20,000 trees planted
Forest restoration is an essential weapon in the fight against global warming, recognized by the UN as a priority of the decade. Let's talk little, let's talk numbers: 80% of biodiversity is sheltered in forests, the primary source of terrestrial carbon. Forests provide for the needs of 25% of the world's population. Thanks to Reforest'Action's unique crowdplanting model, more than 10 million trees have been financed since its creation in 2010. This concrete response to climate issues demonstrates their desire to create new models of sustainable societies that are essential to the future of humanity. With this joint project, Canard-Duchêne is contributing to reforestation by committing to replanting more than 20,000 trees in France.
Ethical and gourmet champagne
You can be a committed champagne and cultivate a true sense of style and elegance. Developed by Laurent Fédou, the limited edition Brut Réserve has benefited from three years of aging in the cellar and malolactic fermentation. It is made from 30% reserve wines and composed of 45% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay, 25% Pinot Meunier.
On the palate, it is characterized by a beautiful freshness driven by aromas of fresh and juicy fruits such as mirabelle plum. On the nose, toasted notes and aromas of candied fruits such as dried apricot delicately assert themselves. A champagne with a straw-gold color to be served chilled (between 6° and 8°) and accompanied by a risotto with morels and parmesan cream, roast quail and pan-fried mushrooms or a Comté matured for 24 months.
